About Us
THE SPACES
VYC offers two exceptional private venues with breathtaking views of the Viaduct Marina, perfect for a wide variety of events including dinners, corporate staff and customer events, meetings, birthday celebrations, and weddings.
VYC on the ground floor is spacious yet intimate, featuring a large bar and a cozy open fire. For a more intimate affair, the Black Door, located on level 1 is ideal for smaller parties and dining. It has its own bar, bathroom, and entrance, yet can conveniently connect to VYC via an internal door, allowing seamless movement between the two spaces for larger events.
Both VYC and the Black Door are versatile, transforming from a corporate workshop setting to a vibrant party with DJs. Each event has 100% exclusive use of the venue, giving you complete control over décor, music, lighting, and setup. With a picturesque location and customisable features, VYC and the Black Door are perfect for creating memorable and unique events, and our friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Our have a range of menus to suit the needs of your event; Canapés, grazing tables, work and fork, dining and corporate working menus. And if you need something that is not on our current Menu, Katy our Kitchen Manager is happy to curate something for you.
Our full bar offers a wide range of beverages and cocktails, and for corporate workshops, we provide a self-service tea and coffee station to keep attendees refreshed throughout the day.

EVENT PLANNING
We have an experienced Event Planner, here to guide you through the planning process, who will provide an Event Masterplan for a stress-free celebration. We also offer a variety of services to simplify your event planning, including DJs, entertainment, decorations, flowers, cakes, and AV equipment.

VANESSA KERRIDGE
General Manager
With 10+ years running her own boutique venue, Flaxmere House in Bethells Beach, and another decade working in EventsVanessa has hosted everything from intimate weddings to large-scale corporate retreats. She’s known for calm, hands-on coordination and a deep commitment to creating events that feel both polished and personal.
Now she’s bringing that experience to VYC, shaping every event with sharp attention to detail, warm hosting, and an eye for what really matters. “Events can feel overwhelming. My job is to make them feel effortless, for the host and every guest.”
LOVEJET
Kitchen Manager
Lovejett has extensive experience as a Chef and managing large scale catering events. Along with an eye for making food look beautiful and appealing, our canapés not only taste fantastic they will impress your guests as they circle the venue.
JO McCAULEY
Bar Manager
Jo has been with VYC for over 3 years and can stere the bar like a smooth sailing ship. She has had a huge amount of experience, and has seen all of the things we want to embrace but also avoid. She can make a mean cocktail in record speed, so you know that you are in good hands.
BECS BRADLEY
Event Planner
Becs took over what was then Bungalow 8 just before Covid hit — not exactly perfect timing. Originally a Viaduct bar and restaurant, the venue quickly evolved into something new: a private events space. During the early days of Covid, it became one of the first “bubbles” where guests could safely gather without needing to be seated.
Since then, VYC has weathered the storm and come out stronger. We’ve hosted hundreds of events and built a reputation for making things run smoothly. Every Tuesday, we ask ourselves the same question: “What did we learn, and how can we do it better?” That mindset has helped us keep growing, refining, and improving what we offer.
Becs will personally guide you through the planning process and create an Event Masterplan — a clear document that maps out your event in detail. Our whole team uses it to make sure everything runs according to plan, and always with our team mantra in mind: Smooth & Stress-Free.
